The Government of Maharashtra has introduced a single-window clearance system to simplify the registration and compliance process for startups. The system integrates approvals from various departments — including GST, Shop Act, and pollution clearances — into one unified online portal.
For Nagpur entrepreneurs, this means they can now start operations within 7 to 10 days, compared to the earlier average of 45 days. The move comes as part of the MahaStartup Mission 2025, aimed at making the state one of India’s top startup destinations.
“This will reduce red tape and help more youth launch formal businesses quickly,” said Deputy Director of Industries Ramesh Kute.
Local startup incubators like Mini MBA Club and VNIT TBI have welcomed the reform, saying it will attract more first-time founders.
The government is also planning to offer fast-track funding support and legal assistance desks for new ventures. With Nagpur emerging as a growing startup hub, this reform could significantly accelerate the city’s innovation ecosystem.
