The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has announced the establishment of a new industrial cluster in Hingna, Nagpur, aimed at promoting small and medium-scale manufacturing units. The project spans 150 acres and is expected to attract over ₹500 crore in private investment within the next two years.
The cluster will focus on automotive components, packaging materials, and agro-based industries, with modern infrastructure, 24/7 power supply, and logistics access via the upcoming Samruddhi Mahamarg. MIDC officials revealed that 60% of the plots have already been allotted to local entrepreneurs.
“Our goal is to make Nagpur a competitive manufacturing destination for central India,” said MIDC Regional Officer S.P. Thombre.
The initiative will create around 3,000 jobs and boost allied services such as warehousing and transport. Environmental clearance has been secured, and construction is expected to begin by January 2026.
This project aligns with the state government’s push to develop Nagpur as a Tier-2 industrial powerhouse, reducing the dependency on Mumbai and Pune for manufacturing operations.
